Unfortunately, due to injury, I won’t be able to run alongside Johan during his attempt at the Fastest Known Time on the Heysen Trail.
That’s been tough to accept.
But one thing this journey has shown me is that you’re never doing it alone.
I’ve got a group of mates who have stepped in without hesitation. Together, they’ve taken on the challenge of covering the full 1,200km across the 11 days. Each of them carrying a piece of the distance, and a piece of the purpose behind it.
Over those 11 days in May, we’re also taking on the Run the World team challenge as part of something bigger. Every kilometre we log goes towards raising awareness and supporting free mental health counselling through This Is A Conversation Starter.
Yes, we’re lining up against Johan’s team, but this goes beyond competition.
It’s about standing behind something that matters. It’s about using movement to start conversations that need to be had.
